🌱 Join the Board of the Frederic Grocery Co‑Op!

Are you passionate about local food, community resilience, and the cooperative model? The Frederic Grocery Co‑Op is looking for thoughtful, committed community members to help guide our co‑op’s growth and success.

As a board member, you’ll play a key role in setting strategic direction, shaping policy, and representing the interests of all member‑owners as we build a sustainable, member‑governed grocery store.

Board Election Timeline:

  • February 3, 2026 – elections are announced

  • February 13, 2026 –application window opens

  • March 6, 2026 – application window closes

  • March 7-19, 2026 – board review of applicants

  • March 20, 2026 – member voting begins

  • March 27, 2026 – member voting closes

  • March 28, 2026 – candidates notified and announced

What we’re looking for:

  • People who share our values and want to strengthen food access, local economy, and community engagement.

  • Individuals with a range of skills — including finance, communications, community outreach, planning, nonprofit governance, or project coordination.

  • Team players who listen well, collaborate respectfully, and are comfortable learning new things.

  • Time commitment: Preparation and attendance at monthly board meetings, plus committee work, preparation time (reading board packets), and occasional outreach or training sessions — typically totaling 3–6 hours per month.

  • Length of service: Board positions are for a duration of 2 years.

  • Projects and engagement: Beyond governance, board members will help with strategic planning, community education, recruitment events, owner engagement, and ensuring alignment with cooperative principles.

Serving on a co‑op board is a volunteer role with real impact — helping guide decision‑making, steward resources responsibly, and support our co‑op’s mission as we evolve from concept to store!
